Carissa

Carissa has been a dear friend for many years since I coached her in High School Cheerleading. She later came to work for me part time just because she loved everything bridal. She has been a model for us for many years for Bridal Fair fashion shows and is my main go to for finding male models for tuxedos. I was thrilled when it became her time to celebrate. Of course she came in the store and we had a great bridal appointment with her friends and family. I thought it might be hard for her to find THE dress since she has worn so many in the past in shows, commercials… but Carissa found her dress and as you can see from the pictures it was truly made for her. We were thrilled to outfit everyone in the party with great tuxes from Jim’s Formalwear and dresses from Ada James and Alex Evenings. I believe I cried the day she came in and asked me if I would be there for her wedding in Kona, Hawaii. What an honor.

Here is the story of Carissa and Rylan:

Rylan and I met July 24th, 2015 at the Last Chance Stampede Rodeo. We were introduced by mutual friends and hit it off right away. I asked Rylan to dance, and even though he was not a big fan of dancing, he took me to the dance floor anyway. We continued to dance the night away and had a great time. Even though Rylan seemed really interested, he left me that night without getting my number. I hadn’t met a guy like Rylan before and knew I wanted to get to know him better. I called one of my friends to get his number a couple days later. Once I tracked down his number I remembered it was his birthday that day so I sent him a text that simply said “Happy Birthday, this is Carissa by the way”. Rylan couldn’t believe it; he had been kicking himself for not getting my number the night of the Rodeo. We continued to talk and get to know each other. Shortly after our first date we decided to make it official. Rylan was in his last year of college in Kalispell, making for one “long” year of dating and many trips to Helena. Once Rylan moved back to Helena and we were able to spend more time with each other, it wasn’t long before Rylan and I knew we were meant to be together forever. In August of 2016 Rylan proposed to me on a family vacation at Flathead Lake, of course I said yes.

The planning of the wedding began immediately after the proposal. We had talked about having a destination wedding in the past and realizing it was Rylan’s Grandparent’s last winter in Hawaii. We knew that’s where we wanted it to be. I had never been to Hawaii and was overly excited to begin the plans for our Hawaiian dream wedding. “
The wedding was at a private beach at the Royal Kona Resort. The sun was slowly setting behind them as they exchanged vows. The traditional Hawaiian wedding was full of wonderful advice about Aloha – Love in the Hawaiian language. It was quiet, intimate, and sweet. Carissa’s wedding turned out to be everything she ever wanted. Beautiful setting, great friends and family by her side, and the man she always dreamed of.
